Fall Fun

On Wednesday I headed out to bluff country with my mom, grandma, sister (Amy) and niece (Hannah) and nephew (Caden). I don't have many pictures because my camera batteries died (oops).

We first went to Winona and visited with our cousin Dani who is a freshman at Winona state.

This is Amy and Hannah at the overlook of Winona

We then headed to the LaCresent area to get some apples!

Hannah really enjoyed all of the lawn sculptures :)

I didn't get a picture of Caden before my camera died so here is a very cute one I took from my sisters camera of him with some pumpkins. He is getting so big and so smiley!

We had a picture perfect day and the kids were amazing!

Hope everyone is enjoying their fall!

Baby Room

Well, we are finally starting to get things together for the baby :) This past weekend we picked up this wonderful crib from our friends Dawn and Larry (Thanks so much guys; we love it!). It really helped to finish the room off. Of course there are still things that need to be done, but it is fun to have the room looking like a babies room!

Third Trimester!!

Fall is here and so is the Third Trimester! This picture was taken this past weekend...the end of 28 weeks. I am so happy that fall is here and the weather should start to cool down...I am growing out of the summer clothes that I was wearing and I don't want to buy maternity summer clothes :)

26 weeks

26 weeks and moving right along as we prepare to enter the Third Trimester! I never feel as big as I look in pictures :) I guess that is a good thing.
We have started to prepare more for baby as we think about upcoming showers and registering. Wow, babies need a lot of things for how small they are! There are so many decisions about what bottles to use, what toys, what baby wipes....so many decisions for someone so little. We are enjoying it though and getting more and more excited. December seems so far away but it is nice to finally have a chill in the air to let us know that it is coming!
Until next time...

Bailey Family Weekend

We had our last big summer event with the Bailey family at a cabin near Spicer, MN. The weekend was perfect weather wise and we got to enjoy the lake very much. Besides the swimming, boating, and fishing we had great food and fun chatting around the campfire!

The resort had a lot of water toys. Here is Anna kayaking with Isaac and Nathanael and Rebecca with Lincoln in the paddle boat.

Philip on the water bike and Erik and the kids in the paddle boat.

Sammy Fishing (all of the boys enjoyed fishing and taking a ride in Philip's motor boat)

Clara enjoying the sun!

This is the family in Spicer at a beach on Green Lake...the water was a bit cold, but was still enjoyed.

24 WEEKS

It's offical....I am getting bigger and I can't stop it. This picture was taken two weeks ago when we were at a cabin with the Bailey family. It is at 24 weeks. I am now 26 weeks and feeling great!

Dragonflies

After all of the rain we had we finally saw the sun today! That made something amazing happen....we had thousands of dragonflies in our yard. It was so thick it was like a cloud and you could hear them hitting each other! Above them were swallows. It was quite the site!
The pictures are a little hard to see, but all of the black dots are dragonflies and the larger ones are the birds.

Caden's Baptism

Here is a picture of us with Caden on his Baptism day. We are honored to be his Godparents along with Michael's sister Melissa. This was the last weekend in July (I am a bit behind on updating the blog). It was a beautiful day and we had such a nice time celebrating Caden.

Twins Game

For Philip's Birthday we were able to enjoy a Twins game with with Erik, Sara and family; Nathanael, Anna and family and mom and dad Bailey. We had such a nice time. The kids did so well at the game! We are happy to say that the twins won also :)
After the game we all went to Red Robin to continue the celebration.
Thanks everyone for coming!

Baby Bailey

This past Wednesday we had another ultrasound!
I know it is hard to see on a scanned picture, but this is a profile of the baby. Head is at the right and spine at the bottom.
We got a total of 8 pictures! It was such a fun and moving experience. We do think the baby looks a little like ET right now, but I guess they all do :)
The baby is active and right now I (Abby) think it is going to be a boy. So far the majority of our nieces and nephews think a boy also; but that changes with each time you ask.

The Half Way Point!!

Well, we've made it! This past Tuesday marked the 20th week of pregnancy and the half-way mark! As you can see I am still getting bigger, but loving it. I can feel the baby move now and it is such a blessing.
I am sticking to bland foods, along with sweet foods like fruit and of course candy :) Besides the frequent use of the bathroom everything else is going well!

Oh Belly!

As requested by some of you, here is a picture of my ever growing belly. I am slowly having to switch my wardrobe over to maternity clothing, but enjoying the excuse to buy new clothes :)
I am 18 weeks now, almost half way done! It has gone so fast that I feel like we just found out. We have another doctors appointment this week and another ultrasound in two weeks.
We are not going to find out if it is a boy or girl (we are old school). I am however having fun looking at lots of cute baby clothes and bedding...etc
We will keep you more updated now that I am growing.

I don't feel so good....

.....oh Bernice. She did not feel so good last night (Sunday July 8th) after she ran into a moving truck. Yes, I said she ran into it. My dad was driving up the driveway and thought that he hit Bernice. He heard a loud thud and saw her run off into the woods. After searching for her and convincing her it was okay to come out (as her "mom" was panicking) we found that she didn't seem to have any broken bones or anything.

The extent of her damage is mainly on her head with a few cuts, scrapes and well gashes. She had a few on her side and one on her foot too.

After my dad (who felt so bad), got home and inspected the truck he saw that she left a mark on the passenger side door. He saw her running to the truck from behind and thinks she was going too fast and ran right into the truck! That would not surprise me.

We are still going to the vet today just to make sure everything is okay, but what a scare. I sure hope her car chasing days are over!

Dogs and Storms

This is a picture of a storm that went past us this week. We did not get too much out of it, but about 5-10 miles from us they had hail and wind damage! It was fun to watch is pass.

I had a little time on my hands and thought I would also get some pictures of the dogs.

This is one of my favorite pictures! Bernice is not always very photogenic :) I think her tongue is too big for her mouth.

Michelle and Steves wedding

This June we were able to attend 3 weddings! We had so much fun at all of them. So far (because Abby forgot the camera at the first two) we only have pictures from Michelle and Steve's wedding.

This was a gorgeous wedding! The first picture is of the Bride and Groom (their first dance).

The whole evening and wedding was very fun and we are so happy that we got to see so many friends that we don't get to see very often. It was good to talk to all of you and hope to see you again soon!

This is Cindy and Tom Nelson. Cindy and I were roommates and they now live in New Mexico (at least for a little while longer).

This is Philip and I with Kim Leonard who was also one of my roommates. She now lives in Duluth (and we are very jealous because we would love to live there too).

Michelle and Steve are off to Germany where Steve is stationed right now. He will be heading off to Iraq in August and they are both in our prayers!

Hannah

Here are a few pictures of our niece Hannah out at our farm.
She especially liked the trampoline!

Here she is with grandpa. This is her first time sitting on a tractor!
She is all set with her rain boots and cowgirl hat.

God's Beauty

We took this picture last week after one of the storms. What a great reminder it is of God's promises to us. It is a double rainbow, but the top one is very light.

The Dog Days of Summer

Oh, to have the life of a dog....this is "Lucky". He came with the house we moved into. We have become very fond of him. He and the girls get a long very well. He especially likes the pool that we have for the girls in their outdoor kennel. This was after a bike ride we took one morning...needless to say, we wore him out.

Welcome!

Philip and I would like to welcome Amilia and Caden to the family! We were lucky enough to become aunt and uncle twice in 4 days.
Nathanael and Anna came back with Amilia on Saturday and Amy had Caden on Tuesday.
They are both beautiful and we are so excited to get to know them!!
