Upstairs

The upstairs...This is my other favorite area. we put our computer up here and also have our bedroom. The door you see is to another bedroom that is not done yet.
Again, had to paint over the wood paneling. We also had to paint the floor..it was worn and the stairs had been a green color.

Next before and after....

Okay, so this may not look very different. The walls were a yellow, but needed a fresh coat of paint. The trim was also painted yellow, so I decided to do it white.
(keep in mind also we did not revert to the 70's, but do not have our furniture yet...not until we sell :) There was a door that was separating the stairs also and we took that off to open things up more.

Before and After

Okay, to keep this simple and easy for me I will have to do this before and after thing in a few different post...our Internet is not as fast as it used to be.
This is the entryway. Now, while I like wood paneling just as much as the next gal, I decided it all needed to be painted over :)
I think this turned out to be one of my favorite rooms. It was the last room I did and while it was fun...it turned out to be very functional also.

Our new home

Okay, we finally did it...we moved. We packed up the car, truck and a u-hal and headed down south.

Our move went well and we have been working hard on making our new house a home. We have just about painted every room in the house and are getting used to the joys of a farm house :)

Philip is enjoying his job transfer very much. He likes being in a smaller office and is keeping very busy already

Maisy and Bernice are also enjoying the farm life. They are much more tiered at night and love the space they have to run around. We cannot wait to get them ready for hunting season. We have seen deer, wild turkey, pheasants and more!

Patches and Emily have also adjusted well. Here they are in their favorite morning spot...the sunny window in the living room. You can see the dogs also like it (all of the nose prints :).

Blizzard Conditions....

We hope everyone is having fun digging out after the 12 ++ inches of snow. We have been having fun playing in the snow and watching our dogs disappear :)

The girls settled down for a moment and sat nice for their first picture in the snow together.

The girls had to practically swim or hop like bunnies to get through the snow!

We hope our friends and family to the north and south are safe and enjoying the late winter.

Fido Fleece

As news of another big storm approches we thought we better get ready for it. One of the things we got was a "fido fleece" for Bernice. No more shaking in the cold weather for this girl!

A special thanks to Philip's dad for all of his help...we could not have gotten it done in time with out you! Also to Sara and Erik, thank you for helping to furnish the bathroom!

We will keep you all posted on things with the house. We hope everyone keeps warm!

Here Kitty Kitty

Okay, It's not that we don't love our cats just as much as our dogs....it's that the dogs command more attention. So, because we were feeling like the blog was becoming a bit one sided we decided to share a few of the pictures of Patches and Emily.

Here is Patches doing one of her favorite things, trying to get outside :)

This is Emily in one of here usual positions, hiding. She is not a big fan of dogs, but it is true that when the dogs are away, the cats will play.

We're Moving!

Okay,
This may be a shock to some of you, but for most it's not. We're moving! For about the past month Philip and I have been waiting to here if we would in fact be moving to the Mankato area....but I am getting ahead of myself.
Philip was one of 8 people asked if he were interested in transferring to the Mankato or St. Cloud office...he was given all of one day to think about it and give his answer. Well, it must be a God thing because we had thought about someday moving to a different area where we could live in the country. We picked the Mankato area because it would be closer to Abby's family and we would have a place to stay until we found a home.
This is a great job opportunity for Philip and we are very excited. We are also sad to be leaving our first home. We have been able to make some really good friends and get connected with the church here and it will be hard to leave that, but we know that God has a plan for us and feel that the Mankato area is where he wants us to be. He has provided so much for us and it is amazing how things work out if you just let them happen in Gods time....we know that all will be well.
So when we do move (probably sometime in March) we will be temporarily staying in my (Abby's) grandparents old house. We know our dogs will be very excited because it is on a farm....Our cats on the other hand are probably less than excited to move. Our new address will be :
47368 235th St.
Easton, MN 56025

Our phones right now are still our cell #...we will keep you all updated on the happenings!

Christmas

Maisy and Bernice opening their Christmas Presents :)

Happy New Year everyone...

We hope you all had a very wonderful Christmas and a fun and safe new years. We were blessed to extend our Christmas for a week. We spent Christmas day with Philip's family in Mound and this past Saturday with Abby's family in Delavan. We were able to have a white "Christmas" both times...(well, the snow did not come until Sunday at the Anderson's). Christmas Eve we spent with just our little family making food, listening to Christmas music and watching It's A Wonderful Life.

I just want to reflect a little on this past holiday season....Although the Holidays see to come and go so quickly as adults we still enjoy them and try to capture those child like magic Christmas moments, that is Philip and I do. Not all people seem to take that in though. As an adult and working around people I saw something awful happen the weeks around Christmas....People seemed to become greedier and complain more. This makes me sad because it is a reminder that for most, Christmas is all about money and most of the time the lack their of. Now, I know most of you cherish the true meaning of Christmas and hold this dear to your heart, but we all can get caught up in the "money" of the season. Presents are nice to give and receive, but its not those "things" we get for Christmas that make it special, but the moments that do.

Here are a few of our favorite Christmas moments this year:

Pot roast (and eating way too much)

Snorta (the only time it is appropriate for adults to make that many animal sounds :)

Nieces and nephews

Maisy becoming a horse (pictures to come)

Maisy getting into the garbage (picture to come:)

Walks in the woods as the sun sets

Snow (the feeling of being in a blizzard...sort of )

There were so many moments of laughter this holiday. I can't remember when I have laughed so hard I got tears in my eyes. Thank you all for a very wonderful Holiday. We wish you the best this year in all that you do and encounter.

Love,

Philip and Abby

Our first Blog

Okay, we decided to start doing this blog thing....This way we can keep all of our friends and family posted on the happenings of our life and our critter's lives. We now have 4 critters, Maisy, Bernice, Patches and Emily. Maisy is our black lab that is about 17 months old. Bernice is our newest edition. She is a "lab", but we are having second thoughts about that though. She is very small and looks kind of like a beagle, hmmm?? She is 5 months old. Patches is our calico kitty that loves water and Emily is our "free" rescue kitty. When we got her she needed an fho (femoral head ostectomy), so a lot $$$$ later she is fixed and can now run from the dogs.

Here is a picture of Bernice all ready for Christmas!
