Camping

This past weekend we embarked on our first camping trip with Elijah. We went with Abby's sisters and their families down to southeastern MN by Lanesboro. It was an adventurous weekend that included getting caught in a down pour with hail while biking, cooking in the rain and trying to stay warm....there were some positive points to the weekend though :) We had great nights around the campfire, fun playing with the kids, the guys went golfing and a fun story for the future! Can't wait until we can go again!

My new hat

Just thought I would put this up quick....Elijah looked so cute in his new hat from grandma and grandpa bailey.

Twins Game

We took Elijah to his first twins game for Great Grandma Max's 80Th Birthday! We had 4 generations of twins fans. It was a very fun day and the kids did so well. Elijah got a little scared about half way through the game when the twins started scoring and the crowd got really loud...we just had to take him out for awhile. Otherwise he did very well. He had a busy weekend. Grandma and Grandpa Bailey came down on Friday and Saturday to visit. We went fishing, a little shopping, swimming and Grandma Josie took him for a few walks....he got a lot of fresh air. Well, I am getting tired...I will post more twins pictures later...we got a lot of cute ones.

One of those moments

Philip and I had one of those "oh wow, we're parents" moments the other day. I had taken Eli swimming again that day and hung his beach towel on a bathroom hook and laid his swim trunks on the side of the bath tub for the next day. Philip came home and walked into the bathroom and said, "I love to see his towel hanging here...can you believe we're parents? That's our little boys beach towel."

Time goes by so fast and I love to have those moments that really make you stop and think about how blessed you are...even the simpleness of a towel hanging on a hook.

New pool

We got Elijah a swimming pool this past weekend. It is finally warm enough to take him out and use it! He loves the water and gets us very wet during bath time. It was just a little while ago that he learned he could splash with not only his legs, but his hands also. It is also nice that he is sitting up on his own more...makes it easier to have him in a pool. He was happy in the pool for almost a half hour! Mommy enjoyed this because she was able to be in the sun....she might have gotten a little too much though because her back is a little red this evening :)

Also, as you can see he is not missing a meal....can you believe he ever weighed only 3 1/2 pounds?!

First Parade

We took Eli to his first parade on Saturday in Mapleton. It was such a beautiful day!! We met up with friends Amber and Ben and their little boy Landon. After the parade we went up to the fire station for a pork feed...there Landon and Eli really took each other in and talked and smiled at one another...oh the life of a baby. If we only knew what they were thinking.

Fathers Day

We celebrated Philip's first Fathers day on Sunday...Saturday we took Elijah on his first fishing trip and to his first parade. On Sunday we had a nice breakfast, went to church, had steak for dinner and enjoyed the day being outside. Philip was also able to catch a well deserved nap in the afternoon after a couple of very long work weeks. Hope all of the daddy's had a great day!

Seven months old

Okay....Philip and I are a little biased, but we do think we have the cutest little boy around! I can't believe he is 7 months old....time has gone so fast; especially these last few months. Not only has Elijah gotten his third tooth (this past Sunday), he is almost sitting up on his own and plays with his toys on his own. He is getting to be an independent little boy, but still always has time to cuddle. He loves to see what's going on and really takes things in.

Elijah Thomas is dedicated

On Sunday we had the privilege of dedicating our son Elijah Thomas. What a special time to say that we will teach him to know the Lord and be an example to him by rededicating ourselves also. We were able to share this time with family also as they are a big part of our lives and Elijah's. Elijah is lucky to have two very special people in his life, his aunt Rebecca and great uncle Todd who are his godparents. We thank everyone that could come and celebrate this time with us and for the gifts....it was such a wonderful, special day! Praise God!!

A few recent pictures

Okay, here are the pictures that I promised. We have been a bit busy. Elijah loves to be outside in his swing. He also is moving onto the world of veggies. He has tried squash and sweet potato. Today he gets carrots for the first time.
