I love my hands

Elijah has found a new love for his hands. They are always in his mouth! He seems to be trying hard to find his thumb.....so who knows, we may have a thumb sucker after all. He still really loves his pacifier though.

He is cooing so much now! Even when he is playing on the floor by himself he coos and "talks". In the mornings when he wakes up he just lays there cooing and babbling....sometimes he likes to through in a scream here and there also :)

Just a few more smiles...

My first walk

A few weeks ago when we had the warmer weather we took Elijah out for his first walk.....he was very bundled and slept the whole time. We had a lot of fun getting out and getting some fresh air. It is hard to be couped up all winter; we are ready for spring!!

....and yes, he is in there :)

Daddy Time

When Philip gets home it's daddy time! Last night (2/14) Elijah decided he just wanted to be cuddled by his daddy. He looks so cute with his little bum all scrunched up....what a cuddler he is.

The Cold....

The other day we ran out of fuel oil to heat our house and Eli and I had to wait until Philip came home to get our wood stove started. So we bundled up and kept warm.....here is our little bear hibernating....

Three months old

I can't believe its been three months! Eli is changing so much everyday. He smiles a lot now, coos, sleeps really well, loves to kick his legs and bat at objects. He cry is really changing now too....its also louder :) He has become such a big boy....I can't wait to find out how much he weighs next month! Some of his favorite things to do now are cuddle, watch the ceiling fan and have his mommy and daddy sing to him.

Tummy Time Video

Here is a recent video of Elijah having some "tummy time".

At Last...

..Elijah slept through the night! For the last few weeks we have been breaking him of his habit to wake up between 1:30 and 2:30. He was doing great and sleeping until 3 or 4 am! This delighted us. For the last week he has been pushing the time a little more each night and last night he slept from 10pm to 6:30am! What a great feeling to have uninterrupted sleep...Praise God! I hope he keeps it up.

We haven't forgotten

It's been awhile since we put up pictures of our first babies. I guess it is true that they have to take a back seat when a baby comes along. They are still spoiled though. Between running around outside, sleeping on the couch and bed and treats they are snuggled, rubbed and played with. I wouldn't say they are lacking in attention, just not as excessive as before :)

The Bottle

Well, today marked another first for Elijah. He had his first bottle. We decided to try it so Philip could have the chance to bond with him during a feeding and so that eventually he could get used to it to give us a little more freedom (not that I am sure I want it now). He took the bottle right away and had no problems. For me, I started to cry....I am not sure why but it was hard to see someone else feeding him. This is just silly because when we first brought Eli home Philip helped by finger feeding him and I always welcomed that....things have really changed from those early days. I am doing fine now, but was happy when he was done with the bottle but still wanted more so I could finish feeding him :)

I Can Smile

It is so amazing to be a mom and have your baby smile at you for the first time. Although Elijah started to smile a few weeks ago, he did not give them away easily at first. Now, he loves to smile for people and does so more and more. We had him in church this past Sunday and he was really enjoying the music and afterward when Philip was holding him he could not stop smiling...what a blessing from God.
