Okay faithful bloggers,
with life getting busier by the minute I am finding less and less time to blog. I thought it only right to let you know that I will not be blogging any more. I will send pictures out of my cute little boy in email though or per request :) Also, Philip and I are both on face book and update that. With this ever changing technical world it is hard to keep up with everything, and I don't like to have so many things to update and whatnot...you understand. Anyway, thank you for blogging with us! Good Night

Vacation

Okay, It's been over a week since we got back, but here are some pictures from our little vacation this summer. We went to Southeastern MN to Harmony to see Niagara cave and the Amish country. We then headed to the cities and Philip and I went to valleyfair while Elijah stayed with his grandparents. The next day we met our friends at Como Zoo and then stayed at the water park hotel in Owatonna. And of course while we were there we hit cabelas and the outlets! It was very busy, but fun to be out and we had great weather. I think we enjoyed the cave best...very cool. Elijah even enjoyed it and did really well.
Can't remember all that I have updated, but here goes....Elijah has 8 teeth now!! He said mama for the first time (I don't' think he knew it though). He is trying so hard to move around the floor, but most of the time goes in circles or backwards. He watches his cousins move and just wants to go!! He has a bit of a cold since we got back from vacation...runny nose. It doesn't make being on his tummy any easier.
Philip had a good b-day. His mom surprised him by coming down. We had a great steak dinner with sweet corn from the garden. We also enjoyed watching the Olympics...like we have every night (Go USA!!)
I think that's about it.....I'll try to get some pictures up from the parade we went to this weekend too!

Handsome boy...
The faces I make

Elijah is always making this face....scrunching his nose up and sniffling. He thinks it is so funny!
Also, He got his 7th tooth and the 8th should be through today or tomorrow! He has been a bit cranky lately, but still an overall happy boy. He is also finally playing more on his belly and trying to move around....I have been working on him with this for a long time and I know as soon as he starts to move I will wish he still stayed in one place :)

Just like daddy
When we were getting ready to go fishing the other night I sat Elijah on the ground and put Philip's hat on him because my hands were full....after seeing how cute he looked I couldn't help but take a few pictures. It also shows his inquisitive side a little. He concentrates on things so hard. I love the faces he makes when he is doing that. I just wonder what is going on in that little mind of his.
P.S.
Those of you that read about our pool problems...they have been fixed. Actually last week they were fixed. My dad (Abby) got us a semi full of city water to put into the pool...nice clean water. Thanks Dad!

Swimming and the Ups and Downs of Pools

Swimming with Hannah and Caden

Elijah trying on his life jacket...he likes to play with it more than have it on.

Elijah in friend Landon's pool
Elijah has gotten to go swimming a lot this summer...At home, at his friend Landon's house and out at his cousins. We have had a lot of fun taking him swimming. He really loves the water and has not shown any fear. He doesn't even mind his face getting wet.
Speaking of pools, we decided after spending time in a pool this summer that we would like to have one. We are not really taking a vacation this year because of the outrageous gas prices, so we got one! This is where the Ups and Downs come in....
1. When setting up a pool one should have a level area; our yard is not level in many places. So we (and by we I mean mostly Philip) had to level a spot in the yard out by bring loads of dirt in...a hot and dirty job in 90 degree weather.
2. One needs to fill the pool with water....preferably city water that is already treated....our water came from two old wells that have lots of minerals in them...especially rust! But the pool people we talked to said that it would be just fine and you can buy some stuff to get the rust out and the filter should take care of it. So We let the pool fill over night and started treating it the next day. We did that on Friday and the pool is still rusty...The water itself is clean, but there are rust particles floating around :(
3. ...And you have to wait for the sun to warm it up
The Ups:
1. You feel like a kid again! Despite the rusty water Philip and I jumped in and had a blast just being a kid in a pool. We also enjoyed just laying around on floatys soaking up the sun. The pool was surprisingly warm after just 3 days. I guess that warm weather was good for something.
So all in all we are happy we got the pool....hope that soon we will be rid of our rust problem...and now we know better for next year.

I'm a big boy

Elijah had his first bath in the big tub the other night...He is just starting to out grow his infant tub and splashing too much. He can sit up well now so this makes it much easier. He really liked being able to splash and he loved to look at the blue bath mat. He also has 6 teeth now!! He has 4 on top and 2 on the bottom. He has been a pretty happy boy through it all though...just a few days of crying spells.
